Evidence of a Raccoon

My dogs visit this watertrap area adjoining a grassy section where lots of crayfish live. My dogs and I visit their daily generally twice in a day. One morning I walked along the section just to find 4 piles of legs and pinchers. Me thinks a raccoon found 4 unwitting crayfish near the edge of the water and had dinner.

I don't have a picture of the before (whole, living crayfish) nor of the raccoon but I have the aftermath :)

I didn't move any of the parts. All the piles had the legs neatly arranged. Just imagine the coon using his paws to hold the prey and he's chewing off the legs.

Makes me happy not to be a crayfish!
